great hornbill The  great hornbill  ( Buceros bicornis ) also known as the  concave-casqued hornbill ,  great Indian hornbill  or  great pied hornbill , is one of the larger members of the  hornbill  family. It is found in the  Indian subcontinent  and  Southeast Asia . Its impressive size and colour have made it important in many tribal cultures and rituals. The great hornbill is long-lived, living for nearly 50 years in captivity. It is predominantly frugivorous, but is an opportunist and will prey on small mammals, reptiles and birds.(wikipedia)

Raorchestes graminirupes  is a species of  frog  in the family  Rhacophoridae . It is  endemic  to the  Western Ghats ,  India . റാക്കോഫോറിനേ  ഉപകുടുംബത്തിൽ ഉള്ള തവളകളുടെ ഒരു ജനുസ് ആണ്  റാവോർകെസ്റ്റെസ് (Raorchestes) . തെക്കും തെക്കുകിഴക്കേഷ്യയിലും ആണ് ഇവയെ കണ്ടുവരുന്നത്. തെക്കേ ഇന്ത്യ, നേപ്പാൾ, മ്യാൻമർ, തായ്‌ലാന്റ്, ലാവോസ് മുതൽ ചൈൻ, വിയറ്റ്‌നാം, പടിഞ്ഞാറൻ മലേഷ്യ എന്നിവിടങ്ങൾ ആണ് ഇവയുടെ ആവാസസ്ഥാനം. പശ്ചിമഘട്ടത്തിൽ ആണ് ഇവയുടെ ഏറ്റവും വൈവിധ്യം ഉള്ളത്. 2010 -ൽ പുതിയ ജനുസായി വിവരിക്കുന്നതുവരെ ഇവ (ഇപ്പോൾ ഇല്ലാത്ത) ഇക്സാലസ്, ഫിലോട്ടസ്, സ്യൂഡോഫിലാട്ടസ് എന്നീ ജനുസുകളിൽ ആയിരുന്നു. Oriental Honey Buzzard ഇര പിടിയൻ പക്ഷിയായ തേൻ കൊതിച്ചി പരുന്തിന്റെ ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലെ പേര്  Crested Honey Buzzard ,  Oriental Honey Buzzard  എന്നൊക്കെയും ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം  Pernis ptilorhynchus  എന്നുമാണ്.. Location.Braemore

Travancore Tortoise The  Travancore tortoise  ( Indotestudo travancorica ) [2]  is a large forest tortoise growing up to 330 millimetres (13 in) in length. The species was  first described  by  George Albert Boulenger  in 1907. It primarily feeds on grasses and herbs. It also feeds on  molluscs ,  insects , animal carcass, fungi and fruits. It occurs in hill forests at 450–850 m elevation. Males combat by ramming their shell during their breeding season between November and March. It makes a shallow nest in the ground and lay 1 to 5  eggs . Hatchlings are 55–60 mm in size.
